Dr. Natasha Palansuriya
Director/ Senior Catalyst
Dr. Natasha Palansuriya serves as the Director/Catalyst at Purposeful Leadership, dedicated to fostering teams through strategic initiatives and evidence-based expert guidance. With expertise in conflict prevention, non-violent communication, and gender equality and women empowerment, Natasha contributes to pioneering sustainable and inclusive leadership, which are important facets of purposeful
leadership.
Natasha is also an Independent Consultant, working in the development sector offering research and advisory services in the areas of peace and conflict, transitional justice and reconciliation, transnational activism, governance, and democracy. Prior to this she was a Senior Researcher at the Centre for Poverty
Analysis (CEPA) leading the Social Cohesion thematic. She earned her PhD in International Politics from City, University of London, with her research delving into the Sri Lankan Tamil transnational engagement in post-war justice.
She holds a Masters in International Politics and Human Rights from City, University of London, where her dissertation focused on the reconciliation process of Sri Lanka. Additionally, Natasha has a First Class Honors Bachelors degree in Journalism and Media from Coventry University. She was honored with the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) awards for Best Radio Documentary and Student Journalist
of the Year in 2012.
