Prarthana Liyanage

Director/ Senior Catalyst

Prarthana Liyanage, is a Director, Counsellor and Catalyst of Purposeful Leadership Limited. She is a qualified Psychologist, Counsellor, Coach and Trainer.  She has influenced many participants to bring essential change to their lives from various companies that include Axiata Digital, Dialog, John Keells Holdings, MAS Intimates, Hirdaramani, Benji Ltd, Brandix, Jetwing Hotels, Litro, IFS, Millennium IT, HSBC, Pan Asia Bank, Pearsons, Sponge, Unilever, and Wiley Global Technologies. 

Prarthana is a Psychology graduate who holds a Diploma in Counselling Psychology, an International Diploma in Psychology, an Advanced Certificate in Psychological Counselling, a Certificate in Family Counselling, a certificate in Child Psychology, a Certificate in Announcing & Programme Presenting and a Foundation certificate in Human Resource Management. She is also a graduate of Mastery of Self through – NLP, Expert, Achiever and Intellect levels.  Working closely with Senior Consultants, she has facilitated organisational, leadership, teams, and talent transformation processes that include 360-degree assessments, psycho-matric assessments, workshops, and collaborative inquiry groups.

Her training and facilitating experiences come from facilitating at the World Conference on Youth 2014, also at a side event at the Commonwealth Youth Forum, facilitating sessions on Millennium Development Goals, First Aid, leadership and Counselling at SLGGA Trainings and Projects, Facilitating at a Career Guidance Seminar which was organized by Institute of Mind Inspiration.  In addition, she has facilitated and done counselling at workshops for parents to build and develop their parenting skills. Delivering a speech at the event to mark World Humanitarian Day 2013 organized by the United Nations (UN) Sri Lanka she went on to lead many projects in above mentioned Organization and play a leadership role in Organizations.

She is a young personality who is passionate about voluntarism and helping people build their lives and change themselves. As a volunteer currently serving as a council member for the Asia Pacific Girl Guides Association, she has organised conferences and conducted training in South Korea, Fiji, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Mongolia, Cyprus, Thailand, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. She also holds memberships of the Radio Society of Sri Lanka and is a license holder. She also worked as a volunteer at the Family Planning Association. In addition, she has held many positions in many youth-led organisations such as the Old Students’ Association at the School of Media Arts & Management and volunteered for the UN Volunteers (V Force), she is one of the youth advisors for the International Youth Alliance for Peace. An advocate of empowering women and believe in working towards the betterment of opportunities available for women to develop themselves so that they are respected for the value they add to organizations.
